Conference Weekend

We had a great time in Delta for conference weekend. On Saturday we did quite a bit of baking and cooking while the men were at the priesthood session.

Kait enjoyed helping me make a loaf of bread for her aunt Jamie!

Someone gave Kait this cute little backpack and she just loved it, walking everywhere with it on.


Following tradition, the older girls made a cake, and I must say we out did ourselves this year!

We have had some interesting experiences in the past, the castle cake to be a little more specific!

But we had a masterpiece this time!

We all enjoyed laying around in our pj's to watch the Sunday morning session.

The fall leaves at my parent's house are always so pretty at conference time.

I made Gichin take a picture, and as you can tell he just loved it!

He did humor me with one good picture though.

Wendy's birthday was the next week, but since most of us couldn't come down again, we decided to make her and cake and celebrate while we were there. Shauna had found this awesome cake idea on the internet for a Cat Litter Cake. Wendy loves her cats so we thought it would be quite funny, and we were right!

It was so gross and real looking, complete with a popper scooper for serving. Wendy could barley blow out the candles and dish it up she was so grossed out! It was hilarious!

September Activities

We all went up to Kamas to watch Cory's football game. It was a fun outing even though Delta didn't win.
That same weekend we had a work party at Grandpa and Grandma Burnhams. Their backyard was long over due for weed pulling and was so bad that Grandma couldn't even go outside because her allergies were so bad from the weeds.

You can't see it yet, but where me and Shauna are pulling weeds there is a truck hiding!

Grandpa is quite the collector and we found all sorts of treasures hiding in the 6 and 7 foot weeds!
We worked most of the day, but only got about half done. Here's as far as we got. You can see the enormous piles of pulled weeds, which will be burned when they dry.

Gichin had a field trip at school with the 7th graders to Timpanogos Cave. They needed a few more adults so I decided to go along. It was quite the experience!

It was a fun hike though, and I enjoyed seeing the pretty fall leaves.

Timp Cave is one of my favorites. So many cool things to see. The guide we had was very funny, and I learned new things from the times I've been before.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor-day weekend we headed up the Ashton Idaho. Tyler and Jamie came with us this year and we have a marvelous time!

W started out swimming in Horse-shoe lake. It was not near as warm and nice as it was in July when we swam, but it will still fun.


On Sunday we went and had dinner with my mission companion, Melissa and her family who live in Rexburg. On our way we stopped in St. Anthony to take some pictures of the historic sights for Gichin.

And we stopped to walk around the Rexburg temple. It is beautiful and will be dedicated in February, on my birthday! We are hoping to be able to come to the open house in January.

Monday, we went 4-wheeling in the mountains. It was pretty hot an dusty, but very fun.

We let Jamie and Tyler take the 4-wheelers while we drove the truck to the bottom of the trail they were going to ride on. When we got there the park ranger told us that the trail was closed to 4-wheelers and was blocked. If you look close you can see Jamie and Tyler stuck on the other side of the gate at the end of this trail! We had to rive back up and pick them up. We thought it was pretty funny!

Last day in Imaging

With Gichin grauating and starting his teaching job in Draper, we didn't need my insurance anymore. So after working in the Imaging Office at BYU, part-time and full-time, for over 3 years I had my last day of work.

My work gave me a princess party because I am a big fan of chick-flicks. I got to wear a crown and hold a wand that had blinking lights!

Two of my co-workers made me an amazing piano cake! It was awesome!

We had yummy food and a pinata.

I am excited to have more free time and spend more time teaching piano, but I will miss my friends from work. I have many fun Imaging memories!

Mount Timpanogos

I have wanted to hike Timp for a long time, and we finally made the attempt. I had heard that it was a tough hike, and it sure was! It was beautiful though.

I especially loved the waterfalls. They are one of my favorite parts of nature.

Jamie, TJ, Shauna, and Kait also came with is.
I am still amazed that TJ and Shauna were able to hike with Kait!

Kait is getting to be quite the hiker! She really seems to enjoy it for the most part too.

I am sad to report that we did not quite make it to the peak. We made it to the lake that is at the base of the peak, and we barely got that far. That last hill before you descend to the lake was a killer. I had to stop and take a breather every couple steps!

On the way down we saw some mountain goats.

Going down was almost as bad as going up! We did survive, although we were all very sore and tired the rest of the day and a few days after. Even without getting to the peak it was about a 14 miles hike total, so I can't say we did too bad!

We are going to make another attempt maybe next year, hopefully in a little better shape!
