We spent the 4th of July weekend down in Delta with my family.
We went to the rez, and Haddie loved the water!
Here we are waiting for the parade to start.
Haddie enjoyed picking up the candy and playing with it more than watching the parade.
Waiting in anticipation of the homemade ice-cream!
Enjoyingthe fireworks. Luckily loud noises don't bother her at all.
My mom made Haddie and her cousin Kaitlyn matching summer dresses. Don't they look so cute together! Haddie loves her cousin Kait and is always extra smiley whenever she is around.
Right after the fourth we headed off on a two week trip to California. We usually go each summer to visit Gichin's parents, but this year we decided to take the long drive through Reno and all the way down California. My brother Cory came with us as a High School Graduation gift and it was really fun to have him along. He was especially good at entertaining Haddie. We took about a week driving down and enjoyed many fun stops along the way. I tried my best to limit the pictures, but we saw a lot of new things!
Our first stop was the Salt Flats just outside of Wendover.
Then to Carson City
Lake Tahoe was beautiful.
This is one of the tree trunks that the Donner party cut down by the lake. This part is what was under the snow, about 10 feet!
Here we are at Sutter's Mill.
Gichin and Cory panning for gold in the American River. Something very exciting for a history teacher!
Haddie had fun playing in the water and eating the rocks.
Next stop was Sutter's Fort in Sacramento
Sacramento Capitol
We visited Fort Ross.
Hold on for dear life!
Oakland Temple
On the ferry going to Alcatrez Island
Alcatraz was probably one of our favorite parts of our trip.
Gichin has had a goal to visit all of the Catholic Missions in California. We have been to a few on previous trips to California. Since we knew we probably wouldn't be going back to northern California very soon if ever, we packed them all into one week. I think our record was 8 in one day! Total we visited 13.
Haddie was a great traveler and had fun on our trip
Santa Monica Pier
Once we got to Gichin's parents house, we had some time to relax and hang out at the beach.
Haddie is definitely a beach girl! Too bad we don't have one closer.
My handsome surfer
We were able to go and do some baptisms at the San Diego Temple with my brother.
Future surfer girl! She got so excited sitting on the surf board.
Just hangin at the beach.
We had a great trip, and especially enjoyed seeing friends and family we don't get to see often enough.

What a fun trip! And you're so ambitious to do it with a baby! I'm not sure I would have even attempted it. You have such an adorable, little family. Good to hear from you!
