Happy Spring!!

With all this crazy weather it must be spring! I must admit that I'm ready for it to make up it's mind and quit going back and forth.
It's been an eventful past month, so this will be a random catch-up of what we have been up to.

I baby-sat my good friend Kandie's baby a few weeks ago. She is so cute and was so calm and content to just sit on the couch for most of the time I watched her. I just had to post a few pictures. Isn't she so cute!

Gichin finally has some time to play his Ukulele since he's with school. These are just a few random pictures I took the other day.

I had a neat opportunity to be involved in recording Spanish and Portugese music for a church/BYU project. I performed spanish duets with two of my music friends. They bought us new performing outfits for the occasion! It was a lot of fun, and it will be neat to have a DVD of the finished project.

Gichin somehow managed to get himself a case of Mono a few weeks ago. We thought it was strep throat when he first went to the doctor because that was his only symptom. We were both surprised with the diagnosis. He has some sort of strong anti-body in his blood that fights mono, so it didn't effect him too much. But they did want his plasma for research, so they pay him $200 each time as long as he still has it! He has been able to donate 3 times so far, and was going in again today to see if he still had the anti-bodies in his blood. Luckily he was pretty much done with student teaching when he got sick, and was still able to finish up his independent study class in time. So he is now enjoying doing absolutely nothing!!

For easter we went down to Delta to spend it with my family. It was a very fun filled weekend with everyone at home. Friday night we decorated sugar cookies and dyed easter eggs so the Easter Bunny could hide them for us.

The easter bunny was pretty tricky in hidding mine and Gichin's basket! It took us a while to hunt it down!

We had a picnic at some sand dunes with my extended family, and enjoyed roasting and eating hot dogs, playing in the sand, riding the 4-wheeler, and building the most amazing orange rolling trail ever!

Wearin' o' the green!!

We had a wonderful St. Patricks Day, and especially enjoyed the beautiful weather outside. I'm a holiday nut, and go all out for the holidays. I made a green breakfast complete with green eggs, which looked disgusting, green pancakes, and green milk. Gichin had a hard time getting it all down!

Several months ago Gichin bought a new pair of snowshoes and has been itching to try them out. Since it was so beautiful on Saturday we went up past Sundance, to Aspen grove and went snowshoeing in the trees. We also had a older pair that Gichin's dad made, so we were both able to go. It was beautiful and so warm, and we had a great time.

Gichin's snowshoes had spikes on the bottom so he had to try them out climbing the mountainside.

For our green dinner, we had green mashed potatoes, green beans, steak (I thought that would be a little much to make that green!), and green lemonade.

Gichin had a much easier time teaching the green dinner than the breakfast!

Idaho!

We went to Ashton Idaho over President's Day Weekend to visit Gichin's grandma Marsden and other family. We left Friday afternoon and rode up with Tyler in his new truck. Tyler was very excited about his new diesel four-wheel drive truck, and wanted to try it out before we went to Grandma's. So he decided to take a side road, that had never been plowed. We made it up and over the small hill made from plowing the main road and got stuck! It was hilarious, at least for me and Gichin! After about 20 minutes or so, a nice man, whose house we had gotten stuck in front of, came and pulled us out with his truck.

Saturday morning we went to watch the sled dog races they have every year. We were surprised to that most racers had scrawny mutts instead of the pretty husky type dogs you always see in movies. I guess they get the job done though. The longest race was 100 miles round trip. I can't believe the dogs can pull for that long. A cute little 6 year old raced the 4 mile round trip.



Saturday night we went to a shrimp social with Gichin's cousin Jordan and his wife Annie, that their Elders Quorum did. There was all kinds of shrimp and it was very tasty.

It snowed on Sunday so we had to make a snowman. Any Calvin and Hobbs fans will appreciate our masterpiece (notice the grenade in his hand!). It was Gichin's first time making a snowman and he was very proud.



Monday morning we went snowmobiling. We rode up to Horseshoe lake where we went camping last fall. I couldn't believe how much snow there was, at least 4-5 feet! The snow was so deep and powdery that Tyler (pictured below) got his snowmobile stuck at least 4 feet in the snow.
Gichin and Tyler were quite tired by the time they got it out, from sinking to their thighs every time they would move.

Look close and you can see the top of a sign that is almost completely buried in all the snow. I told my little sister Dani that she would have been completely buried standing in the snow!

It was so beautiful and nice to be up in the mountains. This is a picture we took along the trail to the lake.

My First Blog!

Well, I have to start off apologizing for my own stupidity! I still haven't gotten this blog thing figured out. I accidentally published the same blog twice and when I tried to delete one of them, I deleted the entire Marsden Family blog! So I will attempt to re-do the first one at least.

Me and Gichin have been married for almost 8 months! Our wedding seems like such a long time ago, but at the same time I can't believe it's been 8 months (almost). We finally got our pictures back just before Christmas, so I will attach a few for your viewing pleasure.




For our honeymoon we spent a week in California and a week in Hawaii. We had a wonderful time both places. Hawaii was amazing, and so beautiful as you can see!




For my birthday on Feb 3rd Gichin took me up to Heber for a sleigh ride. I have always wanted to go and it was so fun. We stayed in a motel and came home the next day to have some celebrations with my family.

On our way back to Provo we had to stop at Deer Creek Reservoir and walk haf-way across. The entire thing was frozen. Here's a picture of Gichin standing by the buoy (sp?).
It was kinda creepy to think about how deep the water was where we were walking, but it was very cool!

My mom and dad came up to Provo to go to lunch with us for my dad's b-day. It ended up just being the girls (except for Jaclyn who had to work), and we had a great time.


My cute niece Kait especially loved the lime slice and ate it until there was nothing left but the peel!
